VA Long Beach Healthcare System
COVID-19 Vaccination Updates
Wednesday, January 13, 2021We want to take a moment to ensure you have the latest on where we are with our COVID-19 vaccination efforts. We continue to vaccinate our Veterans that are at the highest risk due to both age and health condition and our health care workers as well. Our current inventory of the Moderna vaccine allows our vaccination program to continue without issue and will allow for a limited expansion to the hours of operations (weekends). Despite that, we do not anticipate having enough doses to expand, or widen the categories of Veterans that are eligible for the vaccine. As the supply chain of vaccine continues to expand, so will our program. For now, our teams will continue to contact you as we have a dose ready for you. We highly encourage you to take the VA survey expressing your interest in getting the vaccine and learning more about VA’s COVID-19 response by visiting COVID-19 vaccines: Stay informed and help us prepare.
A few things we would like your help with:
- Please help keep our phone lines open and only call about your vaccination AFTER we have reached out to you with instructions first. Taking the survey above is the best way for you to let us know you are interested
- Encourage as many of your fellow Veterans as you can to take the survey and help us ensure we are planning correctly and that we have the doses we need to meet the demand
- If you are or know an R.N., consider becoming a part of our team and our mission. We are offering time-limited, Not to Exceed (NTE) appointments through 9/30/2021. If you like your current RN job, you don’t need to quit! Consider joining us in a part time capacity. We are looking for experienced RNs in ICU, DOU, ED, Dialysis, and Critical Care. Please send a copy of your resume to VHALONHR@va.gov. If your experience matches our needs, you will be contacted for additional information.
