Rumors can easily circulate within communities during a crisis, and that has been happening during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Do your part to the stop the spread of disinformation by doing 3 easy things: don’t believe the rumors, don’t pass them along and go to trusted sources of information to get the facts about the federal response.

Always go to trusted sources of information like coronavirus.gov or your local government’s official websites or social media accounts such as Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Visit authoritative sites often and frequently as information can change rapidly.
Here are some sites to try:

Los Angeles County: https://covid19.lacounty.gov/
Orange County: https://www.ochealthinfo.com/phs/about/epidasmt/epi/dip/prevention/novel_coronavirus
California: https://covid19.ca.gov/
CDC: www.CDC.gov

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) created a Coronavirus Rumor Control webpage to help the public distinguish between rumors and facts.

FEMA’s Rumor Control Webpage: https://www.fema.gov/coronavirus-rumor-control

Don’t share rumors and unintentionally spread misinformation.

Remember, act on fact, not rumor!
