VA Begins “Summer of Service” and invites our community to learn more about the VA and how they can be a part of serving those that served

LONG BEACH, Calif. – As part of a nationwide initiative, “Summer of Service”, VA Long Beach Medical Center will open its doors to its community, its Veterans and its local elected officials to see firsthand who we are, what we do, and how they can be a part of the solution.

Real and virtual tours as well as demonstrations will take place to highlight programs and services offered at VA Long Beach. Some of those participating are Mental Health, VA Police, Spinal Cord Injury, Disaster Preparedness, Blind Rehab and Low Vision services.  There will also be opportunities to explore  what jobs we have open, what opportunities to volunteer exist or how a Veteran can get services at the VA.  The event is open to Veterans, the community and the press.
