Long Beach, Calif. – VA Long Beach’s Long Term Care Unit is designed for Veterans that have sustained a spinal cord injury or disorder and are not able to live independently or with family.  The 12 private rooms will give the residents access to highly specialized 24-hour care while in a homelike setting that also allows each Veteran to create his or her own space.  Designed to provide a permanent home to its residents, each room is equipped with the latest technology to allow access to entertainment and the internet, but also offers communal dining, recreation and access to social events.

VA Long Beach’s SCI Long Term Care Unit will be the sixth Long Term Care Unit currently operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the only unit west of the state of Mississippi.
