Non-Profit Hosts July 4th Celebration in Partnership with VA Long Beach

July 1, 2014

Long Beach, California – A Veterans Independence Day Celebration (VIDC) will take place July 4, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VA Long Beach (5901 East Seventh St. Long Beach, CA 90822).

Guests can enjoy free food from the giant BBQ grill and other vendors as well as live music. There will an antique car show with military cars. The Kids Play Zone is open throughout the event with carnival games, bounce house, and much more!

Free transportation will be provided on a continuous loop from Gold Star Manor (3021 Gold Star Dr. Long Beach, CA 90810), Villages at Cabrillo ( 2001 River Ave. Bldg. 28, Long Beach, CA 90806), and VA Long Beach.

VIDC launched in 2012 as a signature, volunteer event to raise awareness and community involvement in assisting and caring for Veterans by non-profit Mentoring Men to Lead (MML). In their inaugural year, the volunteers raised more than $30,000 in sponsorships and donations as well as delivered more than 1, 200 meals to Veterans and their families.
