VA Celebrate 27th Annual Law Enforcement Day

LONG BEACH, Calif., May 1, 2014 – The Long Beach Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will be honoring those in law enforcement Thursday May 8, 2014 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the facility on 5901 E. 7th St., Long Beach, California, 90822. 

National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Various law enforcement agencies from within and around our community will display their specialties and employment information. An open house will be held for the grand opening of the police station.

Guest speakers will include Paul LeBaron, East Division Commander, Long Beach Police Department and Frederick Jackson, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Security and Law Enforcement, Department of Veterans Affairs from Washington, D.C. There will be live demonstrations from Long Beach Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad and K-9 Departments, and many more.
